Kickers are just as important as quarterbacks. You can have the best quarterback who can get you into the red zone almost every time but if you don’t have a clutch kicker, it will come back to bite you in the butt. Just ask Nick Saban throughout his years at Alabama. Kickers are not just important to NFL teams, but they’re important to fantasy teams as well. Today, we’re going to look at the three best kickers in fantasy football.
1.) Jason Myers
Who??? That’s right, the New York Jets starting kicker Jason Myers is the number one fantasy kicker who averages 9.9 points a week. Back in week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts, Myers put up an unbelievable 27 points. That is unreal numbers from a kicker. Now, the knock against Myers is that he has yet to get past the 10 point mark since. But still, an average of almost 10 points per week should not be over looked, especially with an upcoming game against the HORRID Buffalo Bills.
2.) Stephon Gostowski
Stephon Gostowski and Adam Vinatieri are names that have been floating around the league for years now. Gostowski comes in as the second best kicker with an average of 9.8 points. Much of that success is because not only is he a solid kicker, but the Patriots always give him a chance to make field goals. Also in week 6, Gostowski put up 22 points against the Kansas City Chiefs. Something about week 6 and kickers I guess.
3.) Wil Lutz
Now believe it or not, Lutz actually averages the most fantasy points with 10.6 per week thanks to some big weeks. The knock against him is that he has the highest boom or bust chance week in and week out meaning he will either get you 10-15 points or he will be well below that. Still worthy of easily being a fantasy starter, Lutz has been solid all season.
Honorable mentions: Harrison Butker, Mason Crosby, Justin Tucker
