It’s always hard to make bold predictions when it comes to fantasy football. You can think you know it all but then the following week will prove everything you already thought, wrong. With that being said, I’m going to discuss three bold predictions for this week in fantasy football.
1.) Todd Gurley sets the single game high in fantasy points this season
I said it. Todd Gurley will put on the highest fantasy performance for a single game so far this season. The Rams and the Chiefs square off Monday night in what SHOULD be an offensive shootout. Gurley has been by far the best fantasy runningback in the 2018-19 season and he will not stop this week. The Chiefs sketchy defense should not be able to keep up with one of the most utilized backs in the league. Expect a potential 200 yard and multiple score game from the Georgia product.
2.) Calvin Ridley will have multiple scores against the Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys defense has been impressive this season. In fact, pretty much the only reason the Cowboys have won 4 games up to this point is because of the defense (and Ezekiel Elliott too). However, the Falcons have a receiving core that I am not sure the Cowboys can keep up with. First of all, someone is going to have to lock Julio Jones down, which is nearly impossible to do. Byron Jones has been a fine cornerback this season but it will take a couple double teams to keep Jones quiet. But what about the other receivers? That’s where the problem is going to be. Both Mohamed Sanu and Ridley are speedy and reliable receivers that should get open often against the Cowboys defense. Ridley has more upside than Sanu normally so I expect Ridley to get into the end zone a minimum of 2 times against the Cowboys.
3.) Mike Evans will have a monster game this week against the Giants
Evans has been shining most of this season even with the Buccaneers problems at the quarterback position. However, he has been quiet the last 2 weeks and has not been playing up to that elite receiver level. With that being said, I think this is a bounce back week. The Giants all around are a disaster. Yes Saquon Barkley is a freak and Odell Beckham Jr. has been finally connecting well with Eli Manning but besides those two, the Giants are terrible. With a boom or bust offense, I can see Tampa Bay’s passing game tearing the Giants up with Evans being the focal point.
